Yutong electric trucks to land in the UK
The Chinese player will soon hit the UK market with the Yutong T75e, a fully-electric 7.5-tonne unit. The latter will be the very first Yutong electric truck to be commercialized in the UK. Yutong electric trucks will be imported by UK sales and service partner, Pelican Engineering, which is the current e-bus partner of the Chinese manufacturer there.

Chinese bus and truck manufacturer Yutong is ready to bring its electric trucks in Europe, precisely in the UK. According to Electric Drives, the Chinese player will soon hit the UK market with the Yutong T75e, a fully-electric 7.5-tonne unit. The latter will be the very first Yutong electric truck to be commercialized in the UK.
Indeed, we had the great opportunity to visit Yutong’s facilities in Zhengzhou, China, in the summer of 2023. At that time, the company management told us that they had the intention to commercialize their electric trucks in Europe, but they were still evaluating the opportunities. Now, it seems that UK has been chosen as the door to Europe. Indeed, Yutong is one of the first brands in terms of e-bus sales in the Old Continent.
Yutong in the UK: Pelican Engineering is the chosen partner
According to Electric Drives, Yutong electric trucks will be imported by UK sales and service partner, Pelican Engineering, which is the current e-bus partner of the Chinese manufacturer in the UK.
“This is a very exciting development for us”, said Richard Crump, managing director at Pelican Engineering. “If the UK is to satisfy its net zero ambitions, then the decarbonisation of the commercial vehicle sector is a crucial part of the jigsaw. We believe the 7.5-tonne sector is the easiest sector to electrify and the Yutong truck chassis”, combined with our cost-effective charger and battery storage solution provided by Pelican AEAUTO, brings operators a readymade solution for their zero-emission needs”.
