It’s perhaps underestimating to consider Chinese truck manufacturer Windrose only a start-up. The company, led by Chinese entrepreneur Wen Han, has developed a very interesting electric truck, boosting over 670 km range, as well as quite high energy efficiency. We had the opportunity to see the e-truck at IAA Transportation in Hannover, back in September.

Since then, the electric vehicles have been travelling all over the world, to reach Australia and New Zealand. As we wrote here, CEO Wen Han had recently said that Windrose achieved about 6,000 pre-orders from U.S.-based and European companies. For sure, Windrose has got a cooperation with global companies such as Decathlon. At the same time, the manufacturer is testing megawatt charging opportunities, in cooperation with Chinese Sinexcel.

Windrose is planning e-truck deliveries

Also, the company communicated the will to have manufacturing sites in Europe and the U.S. Belgium and the State of Georgia seem to be the chosen locations. Now, CEO Wen Han released an interview to Chinese media platform Xinhua. He declared that Windrose is “the first Chinese truck company to have received orders from developed economies like Europe and the United States, as well as the first Chinese truck company to test on four continents.”

According to Han, Windrose has already “established production facilities in the United States and Belgium”, obtaining the world-manufacturing ID (WMI) in both locations. Deliveries in the United States are supposed to start in the first half of 2025, while deliveries in Europe are set to start in the second half of the year.

Orders come from European countries such as Denmark, Belgium and France, as well as the United States and New Zealand. Windrose also intends to build a factory in France for key truck parts production.

“Our clients are large global enterprises, such as Nike and Decathlon, who require the use of electric trucks for their global transportation operations. This provides us with the opportunity to deliver goods for them globally,” Han told Xinhua.
