Volta Trucks has signed critical agreement with Steyr Automotive, the same partner detected before the trouble occurred to the truck manufacturer in October, last year. The news reported by some websites, including ElectricDrives, may be an important step towards production of the Volta Zero electric truck. Let’s remind that Volta Trucks was forced into bankruptcy following the crisis of one of its main suppliers, U.S.-based battery manufacturer Proterra.

Volta Trucks to produce e-trucks in Steyr

Then, at the end of last year, major creditor Luxor Capital managed to rescue Volta Trucks, giving the company a second chance, although most of its employees remained unemployed. Moreover, former Volta Trucks co-founder, Carl-Magnus Norden, got out of the company itself.

Now, Volta Trucks lays under the ownership of the newborn Volta Commercial Vehicles. “We are extremely pleased with the signing of this agreement, as it represents an important milestone for the resumption of production in this important business area for us. We and our team are highly motivated to bring this innovative truck onto the road together with our contract partner Volta Commercial Vehicles”, stated Steyr Automotive, as reported by ElectricDrives
