Autonomous charging solutions supplier Rocsys announces opening office in the US and precisely in Portland, Oregon. Rocsys has already opened a cooperation with Grivix and VDL ETS addressed at the development of robotic fast charging for Heavy Duty Vehicles, being them e-buses or e-trucks. Plans for the US market had been recently announced and in the current year Rocsys underlined it has signed contracts with a number of notable customers within the United States.

The company hired Erin Galiger as Senior Business Development manager in charge of setting up the initial US-based team and activities.

Rocsys chooses Oregon. The expansion in North America

Rocsys was founded in 2019, in the City of Delft, the Netherlands with one mission: powering clean transportation by making charging autonomous. Rocsys creates autonomous charging solutions by combining soft robotics and cutting-edge computer vision technologies, in combination with data-driven services for fleet optimization.

Expansion to North America was planned from the start, the company says. And adds: «The strong and ever-increasing demand for autonomous charging solutions for the North American market has triggered an office opening ahead of the initial planning. The latest additional funding round $6.3M that was concluded in May 2021 allowed for this plan to be carried out».

Local production to be set up later on

This new office will be the company’s second location and will allow Rocsys to serve the customers within the region and tailor solutions to North American market needs and specifications. In the coming years, Rocsys will set up local production for the North American market, complying to the Buy American Act.
