Kempower’s Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) have achieved California Type Evaluation Program (CTEP) certification, marking a seal of integrity to its North American product line. Indeed, we had the great opportunity to attend the official inauguration of Kempower’s North American production plant in Durham, NC, back in June.

More into details, CTEP certifies that Kempower’s equipment meets and exceeds regulatory standards that protect consumers from faulty or fraudulent devices, thus ensuring consumers are charged accurately for the energy they use.

Statements from Kempower’s management about the certification

“This milestone not only enhances our product portfolio but also strengthens our partnership with industry leaders. CTEP certification is essential for operating commercial EVSE in California, the largest EV market in North America, comparable to Germany in Europe,” said Jussi Vanhanen, Chief Market Officer.

“Achieving CTEP certification demonstrates our commitment to delivering high accuracy charging to protect our customers. Kempower’s base model products performed to the best accuracy class of 2.0 – similar to commonly used third party DC meters – providing lower cost options with exceptional performance, consistently favoring consumers,” added Somia Youssef, Product Specialist for North America who led the certification process.
