The next edition of the German fair IFAT, focused on solutions for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management, will be held from 4 to 7 May, 2026. In addition, the exhibition, which will last one day less compared to the previous editions, will change its name from IFAT to IFAT Munich: Solutions for Water, Recycling and Circularity. According to the organizers, this name “underscores the trade fair’s role as a platform where the world’s leading and most innovative companies and agenda setters come together to present solutions in the fields of water, recycling and the circular economy”.

IFAT Munich to be shortened to four days

As said, Messe München has decided to shorten the exhibition from five to four days. “The new schedule will make IFAT Munich even more efficient,” said Stefan Rummel, CEO of Messe München. “At the same time, we will conserve the resources of our exhibitors and visitors. We have taken the upcoming anniversary in 2026—60 years of IFAT Munich—as an opportunity to optimize processes and have adjusted the length of the trade fair in light of this. We will maintain this successful model in the future.”

In the last couple of editions, we visited IFAT Munich, the place where relevant truck manufacturers such as, for instance, Daimler Truck or MAN, introduced new truck (and above all electric truck) models, mainly conceived for municipalities, construction or waste management applications.
