The confirmation came through DB Schenker and DSV official channels: the German logistics player, controlled by Deutsche Bahn, has been sold to the Danish DSV, among the most important players at least at the European level in the world of logistics and transport. Together, DSV and Schenker will have an expected pro forma revenue of approximately EUR 39.3 billion (based on 2023 numbers) and a combined workforce of approximately 147,000 employees in more than 90 countries.

The situation concerning DB Schenker has been going on for a few months now, with several possible buyers offering to close the deal. These included the Maersk Group, which had later withdrawn from the deal. In the end, the CVC Capital Partners fund, which actually seemed to have the upper hand until a few days ago, and precisely DSV were left.

DSV acquired DB Schenker for 14.3 billion euros

The acquisition will strengthen DSV’s global network, expertise and competitiveness, benefiting employees, customers and investors. The value of the acquisition is EUR 14.3 billion.
