German lithium-ion battery manufacturer BMZ announced the enlargement of its production in Karlstein am Main, Germany, due to “a significant rise in their UK business”, as reported in an official note. BMZ currently starts the production of 48 Volt (approx. 4.5 kWh) batteries dedicated to an UK e-mobility customer. A long-term agreement has enabled investment into the new automated production line with a manufacturing capacity of 1,000 battery packs per month to secure customer demands.

“It´s an important milestone in the BMZ business development in the UK. We are excited about opening new markets for BMZ, and we are working on other opportunities for how BMZ can support UK customers”, commented Lukas Gazda, the company director of BMZ UK.

BMZ Group inaugurated its UK subsidiary BMZ Innovation Group Ltd (BMZ UK) in Cambridge in December 2020. Since then, BMZ UK has closed binding agreements with new customers from the e-mobility, energy storage, medical and other portable batteries sector.
