Italian-based brand Alpitronic has recently announced its own first megawatt charging system. Among the system’s key features are 1 MW power unit, up to 1500A per dispenser, as well as over 97% efficiency with advanced technology. The new product is scalable to meet evolving industry needs, and based on the SiC power stack technology ensures highest reliability, proven in over 80 million sessions.

According to Aliptronic, the MCS will be unveiled in February 2025, with production starting in Q2, next year. “Our MCS is a major leap in charging technology, meeting the needs of logistics companies and advancing the decarbonization of transport,” commented Wolfgang Ademmer, CMO of Alpitronic.

Alpitronic America to land in Charlotte

In the meantime, the Italian company will be able to start working at its brand-new American headquarters, located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The move is a part of Alpitronic’s efforts to build a robust, reliable charger network across the country to fuel the increasing adoption of electric vehicles by consumers. Currently, Alpitronic’s hyperchargers achieve, on average, a market-leading efficiency rate greater than 97.5 percent. Alpitronic’s repair and service network can service chargers anywhere in the country.

“While adoption is increasing, one of the main reasons some Americans hesitate to purchase an EV is the lack of a reliable network of chargers across the country,” said Mike Doucleff, Alpitronic Americas CEO. “We are excited to bring Alpitronic’s superior engineering and design to the American market—delivering reduced charging time, increased reliability, and building confidence among consumers.”

Alpitronic Americas recently announced an agreement with Mercedez-Benz High-Power Charging to become the first DC fast-charging network to deploy Hypercharger 400 units at scale in the U.S. Alpitronic has an agreement with Mercedes-Benz Trucks also for the European market.
