The project is expected to establish if hydrogen fuel cell technology can deliver more zero-emission range to heavy-use E-Transit customers travelling high mileages, with maximum loads, ancillary equipment such as chillers and with limited charging opportunities in the working shift.

The vehicle will be officially introduced later this month at Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham. The electric E-Transit Courier is expected to enter series production in 2024, while the thermal versions of the van (petrol and diesel) can be ordered from summer 2023 for delivery before year-end.
